Is the glass half empty or half full? is a common expression, used rhetorically to indicate that a particular situation could be a cause foroptimism (half full) or pessimism (half empty); or as a general litmus test to simply determine if an individual is an optimist or a pessimist. The purpose of the question is to demonstrate that the situation may be seen in different ways depending on one’s point of view and that there may be opportunity in the situation as well as trouble.
This idiom is used to explain how people perceive events and objects. Perception is unique to every individual and is simply one’s interpretation of reality. The phrase “Is the glass half empty or half full” can be referred to as a philosophical question.

Dan Sultan is the kind of guy both you and your mum can go ga-ga over. His lyrics are sweet, his voice is rough and the pathway he is stomping seems dusty. Between his true blue bonds singlet and his distinct accent, there is definately an australian taste in his aura. Having seen him plenty of times before, i knew what i was instore for… a dynamic soul rocking show full of haunting acoustic ballards and a little bit of elvis hip swiveling grooves… and yep he delivers!
Lovers wall is a large wall of graffiti upon graffiti as you walk through to the original Romeo and Juliet balcony in Verona, Italy. Travellers flock here to scribble names, leave notes and scrawl messages on its wall. Maybe someone has written your name there! I visited it in 2005 while travelling europe on my own, such a gorgeous romantic city to visit with your romeo! x

Having grown up down the coast of Victoria in Apollo Bay, the Vasco Era boys have an air of familiarity, of backyard jams and local attitude. They’re well known for letting loose on stage and sending a crowd into a frenzy. Brothers, Ted & Sid O’Neil were still in their teens when they found drummer, Michael Fitzgerald and felt an instant musical and live chemistry. They spurred exciting local performances that were soon packed houses, leaving the crowd feeling the dynamic intensity of their live shows. Having seen their shows in Melbourne and at festivals i was expected a much larger crowd, but it was an intimate show wiith room to move and definately space to jump. Everyone there seemed to sing along to the words, shake their hair around and sing arm in arm to the their favourites. One enthusiastic lady even escaped the bouncer to get up onstage and take over Sid’s microphone to wail the chorus with the crowd cheering on. The boys loved the crowd interaction, drinking beers between songs and getting involved in banter with drunken harmless guys in wife beaters.
When you wake up singing the songs to a band you heard the night before, you know its been a memorable experience.
Little lisa mitchell, quaint and polite, quiet and beautiful. The 20 year old, english born/australian bread singer has bursted into the Australian music scene after releasing her debut album, Wonder in 2009. Her wonderfully evocative lyrics and playful melodies float around in your head… light and airy, picturesque and pretty.
With a definite appeal to a female audience, the crowd was gentle and happy to sit on the floor until Lisa entered the stage. During the song “Coin Laundry” which lisa sings, “do you hava dollar, do you havva dollar?” the crowd threw dollar coins up onto the stage… how cute!!! She was backed by a 7 piece band all boasting individual styles and attitudes.
Her vintage outfit, introverted personality and vocal style shouts Julia Stone! and she could pass for her younger sister. The perfect music to listen to while lying in a field of daisies on a warm summer day

So the story goes…
back in the day there was a large festival in Nimbin that attracted a large gathering of university students, practitioners of alternative lifestyles, ‘hippies’ and party people. After the festival many participants and festival goers remained in Nimbin to form communes and other multiple occupancy communities. Since then, the region has attracted many writers, artists, musicians, actors, environmentalists and permaculture enthusiasts. The most prominent recreational substance of choice in Nimbin is weed… it is not legal here, but widely known all over the world for being a town dominated by the green stuff. Bus loads of tourists pour in every day to score buds and get hash cookies from local dodgy looking characters.. colourful and a little bit dodgy, alive and a little bit edgy, Nimbin surely is a strange place indeed…

Perfect for a champagne picnic, or a bbq with the whole crew ; the pass is definitely my favourite spot to watch the sun set in Byron bay. It is the most popular surf break on the North coast, with baby waves closer to the shore (perfect for beginners like me) and big ones out the back near the point…
